«It doesn’t really make sense to live alone. But I can’t be with someone either.» This is how the Englishman Neal McGregor describes his psychological dilemma, which will eventually lead him to leave conventional life plans behind, withdrawing to live as a hermit. Eyed suspiciously by the local Irishmen, the young man settles in a simple stone cottage on Inishbofin, an island steeped in legend close to Donegal.
