Phlegm

Jan-David Bolt
Switzerland / 2021 / 0:07:00

Oscar's late. In the surrounding skyscrapers hands are shaken and contracts are signed. That's the last thing he needs right now. Where do these damned snails come from?

PARIS PREMIERE

Jury Declaration:

The Night Award is pronounced for “Phlegm” for the political concept of this funny minimalistic film. The film resonates with our era by questioning society issues. We’ve all long lived in a super-rational age where epic movies exist only to be made for Netflix. In a pragmatic society the real fragile humanistic values exist only as empty words, but not as real principles, and if they crack under the foot, then we see a real lack of a core. And at certain historical moments, this phenomenon takes the form of a pandemic, and it becomes visible and, perhaps, understandable.
