Pierre-Yves Vandeweerd is a Belgian filmmaker. His films have been shot in several regions of the world: in Mauritania (NEMADIS, THE YEARS WITHOUT NEWS / FARAWAY ROOTS / THE CIRCLE OF THE DROWNED), in Western Sahara (THE DORMANTS / LOST LAND), in the Sudan (CLOSED DISTRICT), in France on the Monts Lozère (FOR THE LOST). His latest film, THE ETERNALS, was made in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, and screened at Visions du Réel.
