The different worlds in honnor
|
|
October 10th - 20th 2013
We present film series focused on different countries and regions. This section intends to discover and explore different spaces and cultures with the aim to understand the specific regional, political and social circumstances, do reconstruct the emotional and intellectual spécificities of a special region or country. In this critical work we belief it's essencial to prefer films which rufuse, in its form and expression, the retake of sterotype ways of reality restituition, as an act of resistance in the actual period of "globalisation", which inclins to impose one dominating model of culture and habitutes. |

Lois Patiño
Galicia
2012 | 0:14:00
A poetic view into the relationship of immensity between man and landscape. We contemplate, from the distance, the activity of the skiers on the snowy mountain. The pictorial image and the dark and dreamlike atmosphere transforms the space into something unreal, imprecise, converting it also in a tactile experience.
Lois Patiño won the best emerging director award at Locarno 2013.

My father is a sea captain. All his life has been away from home, fishing and sailing the world's major fishing grounds. For me, my father has always been one who shares a couple of months a year with us, but when he goes, I never know what is his really life. In Secret images I travel to Argentina to find out for my first time, what is the lifestyle of a captain and a father who have always been absent.

Olivier Laxe
Galicia
2008 | 0:35:00
A group of friends share a cinematographical experience in a particular region of Spain, Galicia. The goal is simple- to film what they like, without preconceived ideas about what should be filmed. They want their images to reflect the feelings that unite them with the people they find along the way.
Oliver Laxe was awarded with a FIPRESCI at The Directors' Fortnight, Cannes 2010.
