We used to believe that being left-handed could lead to criminality,
stupidity, and immoral behaviour. So we tried to educate our children
not to use that hand. History Bleeds Under Your Fingernails is a short
film on the history of taming the left hand and on the culture of
cultivating the bodies that do not fit.

The world is flat and horizontal. Yet, as long as we’re alive, we
stand on it on our two legs. In this vertical very short film, a
womanfeels this contradiction in her very body. She feels weird, she
doesn’t belong, she’s alone. Is she depressed or the last of her kind?
A trip to the sea will confront her to these questions. Mater
andspirit will clash.

Samiha, nine children, first female Sheik of Patagonia. María, a widow
with five children, an indigenous Mapuche, who had taken up Buddhism.
Maicoño, young singer. She went around Patagonia with the aim of
collecting the traditions of other old Mapuches before they took them
to the grave. Estrella Resonante Amarilla and Humana Espectral Blanca.
In their little houses built of adobe, straw and stone, they gave
birth alone. For Samiha, María, Maicoño, Estrella and Humana, there is
no real difference between their respective gods. They create them day
by day, reinventing their faith each morning. These women, who have
been disinherited, abandoned, want to generate a material and
spiritual inheritance for their children. For this reason they have
decided to join forces to build this ‘ecumenical temple’. With a good
sense of humor, they themselves define it as ‘a postmodern Noah's Ark,
destined to save spirits from the globalized flood'.

The section "Cinéma in Transgression" offers middle or feature lengh films out of norm and order, between fiction and documentary, characterised by complex audio-visual languages, unpredictable associations based on unconcient, metaphorical and metonymical proceedings. In this way these films can express the complexity of reality.
