In preparation for Christmas, a local service-club holds their annual
charity event. Disadvantaged households are drawn by lottery and
members of the organisation then visit these families in order to
deliver a financial donation. It is on such an occasion that two
respectable men – Mister Chappuis and Mister Da Silva – encounter the
Rapin family. On this night, however, nothing goes according to plan.
Each member of the Rapin family expresses a different attitude towards
accepting their generosity. Sometimes the road to hell is paved with
good intentions.

Filmed in the historic H-Block Prisons of Northern Ireland, 'Prison
Door' gives a Kafkaesque glimpse into the world of a young prisoner
struggling with reality and illusion. Just like every other morning, a
young prisoner waits for the door of his prison cell to be opened. A
bird lands on his window reminding him of freedom. A prison guard
opens the door, and the young prisoner has his chance to experience a
form of freedom. If he doesn't leave within a few minutes, the door
will be closed for the day. This will render him him one step further
from the real world, one less open door for him to escape the prison
of his mind. The bird watches him decide.
