A quietly fascinating meditation on the mundanities of London life.
Installing himself inside the lift of a high-rise block of council
flats, Isaacs and his camera patiently observe the residents as they
go about their daily business. As each of his subjects enters the
lift, it's interesting to note their reactions to him being there;
some are suspicious, others curious, and then there are those who seem
more comfortable in his presence.

The body of a young Polish woman is found in a suitcase on a London
canal adjacent to a block of flats. The filmmakers invite the
residents to reflect on how the murder has affected them. Through
their stories we are provoked to think about our own relationship to
the strangers living in our midst.

Spending most of their lives cooped up in their vehicles away from
their families, long distance truck drivers live a transient and
isolated life. The four protagonists in this latest short film from
Marc Isaacs, speak about loneliness, adultery and the personal pain
they suffer because of their work. Set in an anonymous truck stop
somewhere in England, we are drawn into an atmosphere of melancholy
and reflection.
