International Competition

22 - 27 June

 

10 sections of short-films are going to be submitted to the Festival's international jury. Contemporary films, coming from all countries, selected taking into consideration the criteria of the esthetic audacity, of strange intuitions and of the complex posture in front of the modern world.

Italy

 
Elisa Gattarossa (Milan, 1982) graduated in Modern Literature (2006) from the University Cattolica-Milan. During his academic career, she discovered her passion for art and film. She began her collaboration with AIACE in June 2005 and participates in many projects (and Europanet Medscreen) to promote alternative cinema. She is currently directrive and coordinator General Project
INVIDEO, an international exhibition of video and film, as well as the proposed "Cinema without Barriers" which promotes films accessible to deaf and visually impaired. It also works on the next edition of TECHNE. She also travels throughout Europe to promote the archives of INVIDEO and to find interesting work.

Japan

 

Video artist and curator, Aki Nakazawa lives and works in Cologne and Tokyo. She studied visual media and video art at the School of Arts Nihon, Tokyo. Since 1997 she is a member of the group of video art "Spread Videoart Project (SVP http://svp2.com) in Tokyo. His most recent video "Nogai hiku wo / Drawing wishes" (2006) has been shown and awarded in several international festivals like the Berlinale. She works as curator for the international film festivals. His latest "MONO-GATARI" was presented at WRO 09 in Poland.r

Ireland

 

Don O'Mahony was born in County Kerry, Ireland. His studies at University College Cork directed him to actively participate in The Film Society at his university. He began working for the Cork Film Festival in 1999 where he was part of the selection committee short films before concentrating on the focus and programming of films for the "World Cinema" festival. In 2004, he helped found the section of the experimental film "Free Radicals" which are also scheduled. Don has made a short documentary crowned with a local prize.Il also work as an art and music journalist. Since 2003, he publishes the catalog at Cork Film Festival, but his other great passion is radio, where it produces a broadcast local arts for ten years.

Brasil

 

Born in Recife, Brazil, Julia Salles grew up in São Paulo. She starts there studying film before going to Paris to continue his training in fine arts. She worked for several years with international film festivals, including the Short Film Festival Clermont-Ferrand, the Festival Rio BR and Short Film Festival of São Paulo. She also worked at Europa Cinemas, a subsidy for European cinema. For the moment she lives in Paris and directs short films.
