Basé à Moscou, Andrei Erastov passe sa vie à être cinéaste. Il avait 14 ans en 1979 lorsqu'un festival de cinéma local a présenté son premier film dans la catégorie des trois minutes. Après cinq ans d'études à la VGIK (High Filmmakers 'School), il sort diplômé en tant que réalisateur de films documentaires et caméraman. Il travaille pour des productions mondiales depuis 1994 pour la série documentaire "Russian Wonderland", sur BBC2. Plus tard, il produit des films et des programmes pour Nat Geo, Discovery, Arte, Chanell Four, PBS, CBS, CBC, France 2, ORF, NOS, etc. Certains films ont été nominés et récompensés par des festivals internationaux de cinéma.

For half a year the camera followed a batch of conscripts deep inside
the Russian Army. Each of character has undergone a transformation.
Cinema-verite filming method allowed to edit the film as an
uncomfortable and outrageous real-life drama. A bleak but ironic,
harsh but romantic, outrageous and paradoxical.

The Donetsk Airport , Ukraine, - rebuilt in 2012, but now a scene of
utter devastation -- shortly after Russian-backed separatists have
taken it over. Weaving together the voices of fighters on both sides
supported by battle video, we tell an unvarnished story of war through
the eyes of those who were there. The desperate fight for an airport
whose capture seems more symbolic than strategic, they also show how
human nature can adapt -- in sometimes disturbing ways -- when one's
life is on the line.
