Violet Sunday

Ana is thirteen. On a Sunday, she wakes up to find her mother's wheel chair empty in front of her house and has to spend the entire day with Violeta, her little sister, who is obsessed with domino chips and dead mice. Sensing the collapse of her family, Ana perceives her sister as a strange and annoying little girl.

Breaking up a loving relationship implies the sensation of our self-awareness loss. Despite the banalization of media and the experiences around love, the break-up is still a wound where the shattered individual pulses. I have created the Broken Heart Museum social network and collected anonymous testimonies through Skype as poetical material to develop this cartography of love.

Seventy-five year-old Orfa is sent a mobile phone and a letter by her son, who is unable to visit her. Resignedly, Orfa starts to sell off the 200 minutes that are on her mobile, putting the money towards the cost of her funeral. 200 Minutes is a poetic and melancholic reflection both on time and our inability to live life to the fullest in the company of those we love.

Lena arrives to the prison to make a sociological research. She makes an interview with a young prisoner and constantly gets deeper in his life and horrible background. Lena starts to feel herself attached to the boy but the interview ends in a way she wouldn’t expect.

An international jury overview the sections of short films coming from all over the world. The festival prefers film treating important subjects in an original way, films which don't avoid ambiguity and complexity, films, which are sometimes stay enigmatic, so that refection and mind are going on moving, exceptional films, which covers all kind of artistically expressions, films open for esthetical innovation, shortly films reflecting the perturbing strangeness of the modern world in a complex way.
