'Lebenswelt' is an exploration of our lives permanently colonized by instrumental reason in a world that is dealt to us a priori, conformed by limits that cannot be transcended and where unjustifiable powers get legitimized.

In a rural Thai village, a small family’s Father is forced to quit his job as a train station janitor because of his protest letter to the authority. As the family is struggling to make ends meet, he refuses to keep his mouth shut in order to just get on with their daily lives. Instead, he decides to head off to Bangkok in search of justice and joins the mass rally. After the 19 May 2010 incident in the capital, father returns to his quiet hometown not only as a loser, but also with a deep wound in his heart from his failures.

Luana, Angola. Deux jeune amoureux, Liberdade, un jeune homme angolais, et Betty, sa petite alie chinoise, naviguent dans le méandres de leurs identités naissantes. Parcourant les stupéfiants paysages urbains et naturels de l'Angola, les deux gamins vont d'un karaoké chinois de Shanghai Bahia au cimittière de bateaux de la plage Santiago. Au cours de leur explotation, Liberdade et Betty essaient tant bien que mal de se forger une identité.

Les sections de courts-métrages venant du monde entier seront évaluées par le jury international. Le festival préfère films qui traitent d'un sujet important de manière originale, films doués d'ambiguïté et de complexité à la fois, qui procèdent par énigmes, où la réflexion et l'esprit sont appelés à s'exercer, films exceptionnels qui couvrent tout le spectre de l’expression artistique, films ouverts à l’innovation esthétique, en courts films ayant une posture complexe, reflétant l’inquiétante étrangeté du monde moderne.
